Changing Minds: The Therapeutic Process – The Neuroscience of Narrative; Metaphor and Metamorphosis

Margaret Wilkinson  November 7  Seattle  WA

Metaphor and narrative are significant in therapy as transformation often
announces itself through metaphor. We will explore the neurological brain processes involved in the making of narrative and metaphor, and how they can be distorted by trauma. We will also explore how therapy brings about transformation by engaging the emotions underlying patient’s stories. Held at St Mark’s Cathedral.
