Jittery & Paranoid is My Normal: Treating Teens with Co-occurring Disorders

David Flack MA, LMHC, CDP  April 12  Mountlake Terrace  WA

Andrew, a former teen client reported using “to feel normal,” even though he acknowledged that amphetamines, his drug of choice, made him “jittery and paranoid.” Like Andrew, teens with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders can seem stuck in endless cycles of maladaptive behaviors, experiencing multiple treatment failures and frustrating even the most dedicated professional helpers. In this highly interactive workshop, we’ll deepen our understanding of co-occurring disorders and develop practical skills for making change happen.
