Numerous studies now provide strong evidence that psychosis can be an understandable reaction to trauma, abuse, and other adverse experiences. This workshop is designed to help attendees understand how this reaction occurs and to teach clinicians skills which will allow attendees to support people in changing those reactions and in turning toward recovery. The presenter uses a strengths-based approach and will teach attendees how to frame dissociation as a normal response to traumatic stress which can, when extreme or misinterpreted, develop into psychosis.
