You’ve heard that familiar phrase, indicating that there is often more to a situation than it appears. As mental health professionals, we’ve learned not only to address and treat inappropriate behaviors, but to also look deeper at potential environmental and genetic influences. There is often more than simple curiosity influencing a youth to SET a fire. That is to say, “where there’s fire, there’s smoke”. This conference is designed to address this often misdiagnosed and underserved population. Attendees will gain knowledge concerning the scope of youth firesetting behaviors nationwide and learn characteristics of these youth and their typical family dynamics.
